Come Out; Come Out!
My muse, she oft’ plays hide-and-seek.
(I think she moonlights now and then.)
I find her once or twice a week;
Then next I look, she’s gone again!
I really wish she’d stay with me;
I know how great we two could be.
I also know, when she’s not there,
My inspiration cupboard’s bare!
The poem contains two quatrains (4 lines each), 8 lines total.
The meter is iambic tetrameter: da DUM da DUM da DUM da DUM
The rhyme scheme is abab ccdd

Adorable, how cute. The photo is very fitting too!
ReplyDeleteFirst, I like the respetto form. Second, I believe we share the same muse with still another poet out there somewere, because I only have her two days a week too.
ReplyDeleteThanks to you both. I take some reassurance in your poem, thepoetsquill. It's nice to know that if I do not get recognition as a writer in this life, perhaps I can inspire someone in the next!
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm new to Sunday Scribblings (started with the shipwreck0 and for some reason, I got stuck with this one. I like the poem and the brief lesson that went it. Good luck in getting your children's book published too. ☺
ReplyDeleteYou might have been stuck because you are sharing your muse with me and the poetsquill! Thanks for stopping by.
